Clouds

Cloud formation ..picture taken in my front yard

I love....
Clouds they are nature's pillow
They are more fluffy than the willow
Clouds may take many forms

Clouds may be hiding Angels in the sky
Or a space ship in disguise
Clouds look like a clown
Dancing around

Clouds brighten my day
As they pass my way

Clouds may be filled with water
To pour down on the garden flower
Giving them a shower

Clouds always lift me up
Reminding me that God is around
Peaking through the blue of heaven
Helping women and men

To the Goddesses

Phenomenal Woman

by Maya Angelou

Original Language English

Pretty women wonder where my secret lies.
I'm not cute or built to suit a fashion model's size
But when I start to tell them,
They think I'm telling lies.
I say,
It's in the reach of my arms
The span of my hips,
The stride of my step,
The curl of my lips.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.

I walk into a room
Just as cool as you please,
And to a man,
The fellows stand or
Fall down on their knees.
Then they swarm around me,
A hive of honey bees.
I say,
It's the fire in my eyes,
And the flash of my teeth,
The swing in my waist,
And the joy in my feet.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.

Men themselves have wondered
What they see in me.
They try so much
But they can't touch
My inner mystery.
When I try to show them
They say they still can't see.
I say,
It's in the arch of my back,
The sun of my smile,
The ride of my breasts,
The grace of my style.
I'm a woman

Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.

Now you understand
Just why my head's not bowed.
I don't shout or jump about
Or have to talk real loud.
When you see me passing
It ought to make you proud.
I say,
It's in the click of my heels,
The bend of my hair,
the palm of my hand,
The need of my care,
'Cause I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.

I AM...

The I AM of my Being....

I Am ....
A shimmering gleam of light
A dancing droplet of rain
A swirling pool of water
A deep blue flower
I Am...
A billowy cloud in the sky
A beautiful sunset on a summer's eve
I Am all this and more
I Am the Divine Presence within and without.

A Brave and Startling Truth

by Maya Angelou

Original Language English

We, this people, on a small and lonely planet
Traveling through casual space
Past aloof stars, across the way of indifferent suns
To a destination where all signs tell us
It is possible and imperative that we learn
A brave and startling truth

And when we come to it
To the day of peacemaking
When we release our fingers
From fists of hostility
And allow the pure air to cool our palms

When we come to it
When the curtain falls on the minstrel show of hate
And faces sooted with scorn and scrubbed clean
When battlefields and coliseum
No longer rake our unique and particular sons and daughters
Up with the bruised and bloody grass
To lie in identical plots in foreign soil

When the rapacious storming of the churches
The screaming racket in the temples have ceased
When the pennants are waving gaily
When the banners of the world tremble
Stoutly in the good, clean breeze

When we come to it
When we let the rifles fall from our shoulders
And children dress their dolls in flags of truce
When land mines of death have been removed
And the aged can walk into evenings of peace
When religious ritual is not perfumed
By the incense of burning flesh
And childhood dreams are not kicked awake
By nightmares of abuse

When we come to it
Then we will confess that not the Pyramids
With their stones set in mysterious perfection
Nor the Gardens of Babylon
Hanging as eternal beauty
In our collective memory
Not the Grand Canyon
Kindled into delicious color
By Western sunsets

Nor the Danube, flowing its blue soul into Europe
Not the sacred peak of Mount Fuji
Stretching to the Rising Sun
Neither Father Amazon nor Mother Mississippi who, without favor,
Nurture all creatures in the depths and on the shores
These are not the only wonders of the world

When we come to it
We, this people, on this minuscule and kithless globe
Who reach daily for the bomb, the blade and the dagger
Yet who petition in the dark for tokens of peace
We, this people on this mote of matter
In whose mouths abide cankerous words
Which challenge our very existence
Yet out of those same mouths
Come songs of such exquisite sweetness
That the heart falters in its labor
And the body is quieted into awe

We, this people, on this small and drifting planet
Whose hands can strike with such abandon
That in a twinkling, life is sapped from the living
Yet those same hands can touch with such healing, irresistible tenderness
That the haughty neck is happy to bow
And the proud back is glad to bend
Out of such chaos, of such contradiction
We learn that we are neither devils nor divines

When we come to it
We, this people, on this wayward, floating body
Created on this earth, of this earth
Have the power to fashion for this earth
A climate where every man and every woman
Can live freely without sanctimonious piety
Without crippling fear

When we come to it
We must confess that we are the possible
We are the miraculous, the true wonder of this world
That is when, and only when
We come to it.

Love is the Light of the Heart

The Love of Creator flows everlasting inside

So that is where we abide
No other place to hide
Enjoy the ride
No need to compromise
This Love is the prize
There is no disguise
So Be the Wise
Let the Love rise

HOW DO I LOVE

How do I love?
I love the morning dew
With each and every drop that spew
And every rose that blew
Before my eyes knew
That I love the morning dew
Can I love more than I do today?
Send forth a beautiful ray
Of hope and faith that renews
To bring strength to the sinews
Can I love more than I do today?
To see a rainbow in May
Greet the day
How do I show love to each person I meet?
May I greet
With a heart full of gratitude
For a new friend with a delightful attitude
Can I stay scented in love?
Smell of roses fill the air
I know it is an affair
To be fulfilled with love divine
Like grapes on a vine
